Septerian palm stone

Septarian nodules, also called septarian stones, are a mix of limestone (or mudstone), calcite, and aragonite. Born from ancient seabeds, these fossilised mud balls have outer shells with brown or grey layers and inner cracks filled with sunny yellow calcite. Their name comes from the Latin “septum,” meaning wall or divider. Each stone is ~4-5 cm long.
