Tektites are natural glass formed when a massive meteorite melts Earth’s surface rocks, launching molten material into the air where it cools and falls back down. Unlike meteorites, tektites are made from melted Earth rock, rather than originating from space. Their name comes from the Greek word "tēktos," meaning "molten," and they come in all sorts of fun shapes and sizes. Each piece in our collection measures about 2-3cm long.
